I let school with very few qualifications and became a musician doing many minor jobs to support that habit. In 1998 I returned to HE to do a HND in Animation and managing digital media including aspects of Games design and platform development. I also completed an adult teaching certificate teaching the 2nd year of the HND course I was on at the time.
Upon completing my HND I secured a post at Good Hope Hospital as webmaster and web systems trainer which lead to the development of a wide range of skills working in programming and system delivery.
In 2004 I became self-employed and focused on the delivery of online course and system development as well and delivering Adult Education IT classes. I worked with the SQA, KLM, The Seafish Authority and East Ridding Council Adult Education leading in the development of Moodle as a platform to deliver Adult Education. I also worked in Game design and 3d modeling and animation for 3 years.
In 2014 I accepted a 3 month temporary position at UoB and then secured a permanent post in 2015 leading the CMH Digital Team. I then worked in the Central Digital Team and then led the CoSS Digital team before joining the LES Digital team in 2024.
