My research is grounded in twentieth and twenty-first century literature. I am particularly interested in the organisation of knowledge, cognition, and how we experience the world around us.
My doctoral thesis focused on evolving conceptions of memory, drawing on the insights of contemporary fiction to examine the role of media (including physical environment, language, audio/visual media and digital technologies) in memory acts.
Other research interests include digital cultures, media history, archival theory and practice, philosophies of embodiment, and metaphor.
