James is a research fellow, project manager and developer with the eHealth Group at the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering.

Qualifications

  • BEng (1st) in Computer Systems Engineering, University of Birmingham, 2003

Biography

Received a PhD in the field of Electronic Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK with the title “Multimodal Intent Recognition for Natural Human-Robotic Interaction”. James has been involved as both a project lead and developer for various research support projects for a variety of groups, including the Centre for Learning, Innovation and Collaboration at the University of Birmingham, the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Functional Imaging group, Cancer Research UK and the NHS.

James is currently working as part of a research team on projects funded by the National Institute of Health Research and the European Commission. Interests include the application of modern development techniques to patient record systems, collaborative research methods, distributed systems for healthcare support, web based patient record and decision support systems, data sharing and multi-platform interoperability. James also provides development and project management support for related industrial groups.
