Dr Olly Bones leads the Psychology group in Dubai. His research background in is auditory neuroscience and cognitive psychology.

Biography

Olly Bones is a Lecturer in Psychology and Head of Year 1 for BSc Psychology at the University of Birmingham Dubai.

Olly qualified with a BSc in Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002. He went on to study for an MSc in Audiology at the University of Manchester in 2011, before studying for a PhD, also awarded at University of Manchester in 2014.

Olly also has a Higher National Diploma in Music Production, and a passion for music which has informed several of his research publications.

  • Neural Basis of Vision and Action

  • Music perception

Research

Currently co-I on Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority grant investigating psychological factors impacting childhood obesity.
