Biography

Claire came to the University of Birmingham (September 2023) from the University of Bradford where she was also an Assistant Professor in Adult Nursing.  During her time at the University of Bradford, she initially contributed to the pre-registration nursing programmes, particularly anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology teaching and clinical skills facilitation.  Latterly her focus was on post-registration, postgraduate provision including leading the MSc International Nursing Studies.

In January 2022 Claire was seconded to the Workforce Observatory, University of Bradford, as a Research Associate, for a period of 14 months.  This opportunity helped her to develop her knowledge and skills as a researcher in applied health research.

Clinically her interests are in adult critical care.  She worked in adult critical care in Leeds for a number of years before moving into nurse education at the University of Bradford.

Prior to nursing Claire worked as a counsellor in primary care with a focus on providing person-centred counselling.  She has also worked in the further education teaching human biology and health studies.
