I am new to education, moving over in March 2022. I previously worked as a Junior Sister in Haematology and Oncology at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Prior to this, I worked within neurology and neurosurgery as a staff nurse.
I have always had a passion for educating, teaching and motivating nursing students, and was the student link worker in my previous role.
As a teaching fellow within the child branch, I work alongside other teaching fellows and lecturers across the Nursing Programme, where my focus is to teach, support and give opportunity for students to practice clinical skills. I am responsible for simulated practice with students, where they develop assessment, diagnostics and nursing initiative skills, which are essential for nursing practice in placement and as qualified nurses.
I work in partnership with Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital and support with Clinical Skills teaching for students, whilst on placement. In addition, I will become involved in research projects at BWCH in the future.
