Paula first moved to the UK from Spain in 2018 to pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester. She gained an understanding of topics in microbiology, physiology, genetics, and others; but became particularly interested in learning about the human anatomy. She transferred to the Anatomical Sciences programme, and developed a project in developing online resources to teach medical students about the anatomical variations of the sciatic nerve.
