Shebana is a registered pharmacist and independent prescriber who graduated from Aston University in 2009 and completed her pre-registration training in community pharmacy.
As an experienced community pharmacist she ensured clinical appropriateness of medicines, offered minor ailment consultations, advanced pharmacy services and patient centred care.
She went on to become a pharmacy advisor for the NHS 111 service were she provided safe, effective, evidence based telephone advice relating to medicines use to clinicians, patients and carers.
Keen to pursue a more clinical role, she qualified as an independent prescriber and currently works as a clinical pharmacist in general practice whilst teaching at the university. As a prescriber she plays an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, whilst providing wholistic patient care with shared decision making.
During her career she has enjoyed supporting and mentoring colleagues, members of the pharmacy team, pre- registration trainee pharmacists and pharmacy students, leading to her passion to teach and share her clinical expertise.
