Robin Hancocks is a research fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering. He works within the Microstructure Research Group with a focus on drying technology as part of the ENDPro TSB project. He is also involved in membrane emulsification, encapsulation and is the main contributor to the 3D printing activities of the group. Robin has a background in biochemistry, biology and computer science before becoming a chemical engineer.

Qualifications

PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, 2011.

BSc (Dual Hons.) in Biology and Computer Science from Keele University. 2006.

Biography

Robin has a diverse background, having studied biology, biochemistry and computer science, and finally settling on chemical engineering. His research interests include microstructure engineering with a focus on microstructure production and function. This has lead to his involvement in membrane technology, along with other microstructure production techniques. He is currently involved in novel drying techniques and the development of 3D printing technology.

Teaching

Robin teaches on several modules, including food structure, colloids and rheology and measurement techniques

Postgraduate supervision

Robin is involved in postgraduate supervision for a number of the groups students
