Sen Liu is a research PhD student in the group focusing on mechanism understanding of delivering perfume microcapsules on fabric surfaces during industrial process.

Sen has 7+ years’ industrial research experience in a global consumer product company, where he became an expert in HPLC equipment and an experienced skin care chemistry analyst.

Sen is an expert in micromanipulation techniques including device and sample preparations, equipment calibration and data analysis.

He is enthusiastic in improving industrial formula and product end-using experiences through scientific research.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Polymer Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, 2005

Biography

Sen Liu qualified with a BSc in Polymer Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2005.

He then joined Procter & Gamble company to be a research scientist in the R&D department in its Beijing technical centre. In the company, he had work experiences in laundry detergent and skin care products departments for 7+ years. Apart from the delivering of multiple research projects in the areas, Sen became an expert in HPLC equipment and an experienced skin care chemistry analyst.

Sen joined the University of Birmingham in 2013 and since then has been doing research in the mechanism understanding of delivering perfume microcapsules onto fabric surfaces. The project is co-founded by the School of Chemical Engineering and P&G company which can be also considered as a continuation of Sen’s previous researches.

Research

Current research interest is to understand the molecular interactions and mechanism to enhance deposition of perfume microcapsules on fabric surfaces.
