Partha joined Birmingham Business School in 2024. Prior to joining Birmingham, Partha worked as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Finance at the University of Southampton. He also held an academic position at the University of Strathclyde as an Academic Tutor in Finance.
Partha has presented his research works at several internationally renowned conferences including the Academy of International Business (AIB), Financial Management Association (FMA), Southern Finance Association (SFA), and French Finance Association (AFFI) annual meetings. He has also acted as an ad-hoc referee for different academic journals including the Journal of Corporate Finance, European Journal of Finance, British Accounting Review, Journal of Law and Economics, International Journal of Finance & Economics, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Economic Modelling, Research in International Business and Finance, and Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting.
Partha obtained a PhD in Finance from the University of Strathclyde. His PhD focus was on corporate finance, in which the primary question enquired how macro-environmental and exogenous factors such as ‘Regulatory/Legal’, ‘Ecological/Climate’, and ‘Social/Political’ factors influence corporations and their investors. Partha's PhD at Strathclyde was fully funded by the university's prestigious Student Excellence Award (SEA) scholarship. Prior to commencing his doctoral studies in 2018, Partha completed his MSc in Finance (with distinction) from the University of Strathclyde during the 2016-2017 academic year.
