Lauren is a Research Associate with expertise in the field of metabolomics within the Phenome Centre Birmingham (PCB). With broad manual sample preparation experience, with experience now specifically in the application of automated metabolomics extraction techniques using Beckman Coulter robotic liquid handling systems.

Qualifications

First Class Honours, BSc Forensic Science – awarded by the University of South Wales.

Biography

Lauren graduated from the University of South Wales, Pontypridd with a First Class Honours in Forensic Science, from there she headed straight into the role of Forensic Analyst at Ascertain Forensics based in Malvern, Worcestershire before taking up the role of Research Associate in Metabolomics at the Phenome Centre Birmingham.

Research

Lauren has research interests in automated metabolomic extraction techniques, environmental toxicology and chemical safety assessments using non-traditional test routes i.e., the use of in vitro cell lines in chemical exposure studies.

Other activities

Member of the British Mass Spectroscopy Society (BMSS) (2023-present).
