Dr Garcia Delgado did his PhD at Aberystwyth University, designing new assays for the detection of bacterial pathogens of farmed salmonids and applying genome sequencing to their characterisation. Following this, he worked as Research Associate at Cardiff University on the national Welsh wastewater monitoring program, a job that developed into a postdoctoral researcher role at Bangor University on the same project. He moved into his current role at the University of Birmingham in 2024.
