Giacomo Chiodarelli obtained BSc and MSc in Industrial Chemistry at University of Padua (Italy), with a Master thesis in development of pro-drugs of the natural compound pterostilbene. After the graduation he spent one year working in a small company in Padua (Italy) as an analytical chemist. Then he started his PhD working at the EU funded project entitled “Coopera TB: Hit to lead optimization of novel anti-TB scaffolds through an academic-industrial partnership”: a joined project between Prof. Gurdyal Besra’s research group at University of Birmingham and GlaxoSmithKline DDW Tres Cantos (Spain).
