Masoud teaches on the Medical and Life Sciences pathway, with a particular interest in Microbiology, Parasitology, Molecular Biology, and Environmental Health. His current research focuses on elucidating the structure and composition of cell membranes, as well as biorisk management in high containment laboratories.

Biography

Masoud has meticulously honed his pedagogical capabilities in the realm of Biological and Physical Sciences, with teaching experiences that span the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, China, and back to the UK. Prior to this educational journey, he engaged in research as a Microbiologist and Parasitologist, working on projects related to Cryptosporidium, Mycobacterium, Leishmaniasis, and E. Coli 0157 at institutions such as the University of Birmingham's Institute of Child Health and the Institute of Immunity and Infection.

Masoud has held leadership positions for over eight years, including roles as Head of Faculty and Chair of Science and Technology at various respected institutes in China and the UAE. His current research interests include the development of molecular probes and the application of super-resolution microscopy to explore the intricate architecture of cell membranes and the role of lipids within cellular membranes. He also has a particular interest in biorisk management in high containment laboratories and general occupational health and safety.
