I am an EAP tutor working on the Foundation and CPD Coordinator on the Presessional programmes offered by the Birmingham International Academy. I am also part of the BIA Equality and Diversity Team and lead the foundation student magazine.

Biography

I have nearly 10 years’ experience teaching in in Higher Education. I have taught English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes (Marketing and Business), Development of the plurilingual competence in a minority language context, Education in Innovative Learning Environments, supervised dissertations, developed materials for online English Teaching degrees at university level and co designed and developed materials for the 15 week presessional course online at the BIA.I have taught in Universities in Spain and UK. I have completed additional training in language and teaching pedagogies, and recently gained the inclusive educator qualification issued by HEFi. I have also been involved in research teams following a line of research called Innovation and intervention in multicultural and multilingual societies (fields of Education and Communication). I also engage in professional development and training, attending conferences, seminars and workshops leading to a continuing development of teaching style and knowledge development.

Teaching

At the BIA, I have taught on the Postgraduate Presessional and Foundation Programmes for several years.  I have also taught English for Economics and lunchtime English sessions for international students as part of my role in the insessional programme.
