Dr Asim Bashir is recognised for his successful career spanning over 15 years in English language instruction and education. Holding a Doctorate in Education from the University of Huddersfield and Advance HE Senior Fellowship, his educational journey includes an MA in Applied Translation and a BA (Hons) from the University of Leeds. Currently, he serves as an EAP Teaching Fellow, Assessment Coordinator, and an Advance HE Assessor at the University of Birmingham in Dubai. He previously worked as a Lecturer and Academic Supervisor at the University of Huddersfield, UK (2020), and an EAP Lecturer at the International Aviation Technical College, Riyadh (2018) and the University of Dammam, KSA (2013).
Asim also has a proven track record in a variety of leadership roles, including as an ESOL Programme Manager at Leeds City College (2022) and an Academic Director at TVTC, KSA (2016). In these roles, he managed teams to develop and implement innovative language programmes.
His research interests include the use of technology and the integration of computer assisted language learning, learner motivation as well as collaborative and academic writing. Asim’s passion for education and commitment to excellence are reflected in his extensive career and qualifications and his dedication to innovative teaching methods.
