Igor is a Research Fellow in the Health Economics Unit, specialising in public sector economics, social policy, the economics of social care, and health economics. He is particularly interested in the feasibility of outsourcing social services to independent providers, the effectiveness of external care quality assessment systems, and the role of competition and transparency in health and social care delivery. Igor is also a Research Associate at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) at the London School of Economics (LSE). He leads the policy forum on “Care Home Markets and Regulation,” which he established within the Global Observatory of Long-term Care at LSE.
Currently, Igor is involved in the WISE project, which focuses on how schools invest resources in mental health and wellbeing. He has also worked on a project examining the pros and cons of for-profit and non-profit care homes in England, including the external and internal incentives for care quality.
