Katie Scandrett’s background is in Mathematics and Statistics. She completed a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Birmingham in 2020. She was subsequently awarded a NIHR Pre-doctoral Fellowship which enabled her to study Medical Statistics (MSc) at the University of Leicester. She joined the University of Birmingham in 2021 as a Research Associate in the Test Evaluation Research Group within the Institute of Applied Health Research.
Her main research area involves the evaluation or diagnostic tests and meta-analysis. In particular, she is interested in evaluating methods for the diagnosis of chronic kidney disease.
Katie is interested in teaching and provides support for statistics modules on the Public Health (MPH) and
Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) courses.
