Peter Chilton works as a Research Fellow and Communication Lead for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) West Midlands. 

As a Research Fellow his work includes researching and writing papers and reviews for peer-reviewed publication and external funding bodies; sourcing references; and preparing presentations. As Communication Lead he is involved in designing and editing various reports, graphics, illustrations, figures, presentations, and accessible summaries for publications, grant applications and wider dissemination. He is also responsible for creating and publishing the ARC WM news blog, which is sent out monthly to subscribers worldwide.

  • BSc (Hons) in Human Biology, University of Birmingham, 2006.

Biography

Peter Chilton began working as a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham in February 2008 on a variety of projects, the main one of which was the Research Methods theme of the NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) West Midlands. 

In October 2014 he moved to the University of Warwick, following the transfer of the NIHR CLAHRC WM Central Management Team. While there he also began working on the NIHR Global Health Unit on Improving Health in Slums. He started working within the NIHR ARC WM upon its initiation in September 2019.

He returned to the University of Birmingham in March 2020, continuing to work in NIHR ARC WM.
