The VIRTUES (Values and Individual Responsibility Training to Uphold Ethics in Sport) study is a research project funded by the International Olympic Committee aiming to develop, implement, and evaluate an anti-doping intervention for athletes aged 16-22 years in three countries: UK, Greece, and Italy.
The intervention focuses on two variables that have been identified as important predictors of doping intention: moral disengagement and self-regulatory efficacy. An in-person and a web-based version of the intervention are currently being developed and will be compared to an educational anti-doping programme.
