A Narrative Study with 'Leftover Women' in China
Supervisors: Anthea Hucklesby and Kerry Allen
This research will provide a narrative study with Chinese ‘leftover women’. This research aims to explore how single women interact with Chinese social, cultural, and political environments in terms of their personal lives; how they have been impacted by gender and sexuality norms from past experiences; how single women construct their self-identity and make choices on their career and relationships. Reflexive modernisation theory, individualisation theory and gender theory will be applied in this research.
