From 2008 he worked at the Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies, an Independent Research Centre in Oxford, where he spent four years running the weekly work-in-progress seminar programme and establishing the library.
Previously he co-developed the MA and Post-Graduate Diploma courses in Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at St. Paul’s United Theological College (now St. Paul’s University), Limuru, Kenya. At St Paul's he was a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director of Postgraduate Courses in Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations, teaching courses on Islam in Africa, Christian-Muslim Relations and Islamic Theology.
He has been an Associate Member of Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies, University of Bayreuth and continues as joint editor with Dr. Franz Kogelmann, University of Bayreuth, of the online publication series Muslim-Christian Relations in Africa and Muslims and Islam in Africa.
