Multiple Religious Belonging Online Conference

This online conference will be run jointly by the Centre for Research in Quaker Studies at Woodbrooke and the Hyphen Project at the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public Understanding of Religion. It will take place across four Tuesday evenings in September and October 2020.

Welcoming researchers from all fields, we will explore multiple religious belonging, the complexities of conversion, and hyphenated religious identities.  We look forward to hearing from a range of perspectives.  The call for papers is now closed.  Bookings are now open. 

Timetable

All sessions will last for one hour with discussion following until 21:00.

• Tuesday 6 October (19:30 UK) – Roundtable discussion

Keynote speaker: Susan Katz Miller

Susan Katz Miller is the author of The Interfaith Family Journal and Being Both: Embracing Two Religions in One Interfaith Family. Her original surveys of multiple religious practitioners in US interfaith families are often cited in the academic literature. A former correspondent for Newsweek and New Scientist, she has spoken on interfaith families at The Parliament of the World's Religions, the Unitarian Universalist General Assembly, The Wild Goose Festival, and many other venues. The Multiple Religious Belonging Conference aims to provide a safe, supportive and encouraging atmosphere for all presenters and delegates.  Proposals of experience-based and research-based papers are equally welcome.
