David Meijer is undertaking doctoral research into the neural integration of simultaneous input from multiple sensory modalities. He combines psychophysics and electroencephalography (EEG) techniques in order to study brain activity related to audio-visual integration.

David is especially interested in the role of neural oscillations in multisensory perception and awareness.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Technical Medicine, University of Twente (The Netherlands)

Biography

David studied a Bachelor of Clinical Technology at University of Twente (The Netherlands), where he particularly liked the combination of medicine subjects and applied technology. Hereafter, David continued with the Master’s programme called Technical Medicine at the same university.

During his clinical research internships at neurology and neurophysiology departments of various hospitals he acquired a genuine interest into the mysterious workings of the human brain.
