BPML: The Geometry of Dynamics: Intuition and the Study of Change - Dr Daniel Galvis
- Location

- Dates
- Wednesday 25 January 2023 (19:00-20:00)
Dynamical systems theory is a powerful mathematical tool for studying how things change. We use it to better understand nature as a world of moving and interacting parts; whether it be populations of foxes (predators) and rabbits (prey) in an ecosystem, the spread of infection or of ideas through a society, or the biological and chemical processes that turn food into energy and energy into action. In this talk, we will take a tour through some influential mathematical models in biology and explore how geometry and intuition help us learn from them.
Please join us in person at 19:00, Lecture Theatre A, Watson Building, Edgbaston Campus, University of Birmingham. Alternatively, you can watch online (registration required).
