Join us in an eclectic performance by two of the University’s student led ensembles. Russian miniatures are paired with music from an Italian Christmas as Corelli’s dazzling concerto uses folk-like tunes to evoke images of shepherds tending their flocks. Grainger’s ‘bunch of musical wildflowers’ are presented alongside Bernstein’s boisterous and politically charged Slava! and Gershwin’s well loved ‘musical kaleidoscope of America’.
- Glazunov Theme and Variations, Op. 97
- Kalinnikow Serenade for Strings
- Corelli Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8, ‘Fatto per la notte di Natale’
- Gershwin arr. Tohru Takahashi Rhapsody in Blue
- Grainger ed. Fennell Lincolnshire Posy
- Bernstein arr. Grundman Slava!
