This interdisciplinary project examines visual and sonic bodies across painting, video artwork, performance art and popular music in 1980s China. It tunes to how the 'bodily' is represented and reshaped in various artistic productions and relates those reconfigurations with social and historical fluxes. In this way, this project strives to weave a heterogeneous bodyscape that blends with the social fabrics of the 1980s and breaths with the reverberance of the transitioning period.
