Lady Hale will deliver a public lecture on appointments to the UK Supreme Court as part of an international conference to mark the tenth anniversary of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).
Lady Hale was appointed Deputy President of the Supreme Court in June 2013. In January 2004, she became the United Kingdom’s first woman Lord of Appeal in Ordinary and, in October 2009, she became the first woman Justice of The Supreme Court. She has had a varied career as an academic lawyer, law reformer, and judge and has spoken regularly on issues relating to judicial appointments and diversity.
