Kris Manjapra and Shirley Ye will host a series of seminars supported by the Leverhulme Trust for postgraduate students in May and June 2023.
Preparatory readings will be circulated to registered participants one week before the seminar.
Kris Manjapra discusses some of the key insights from Colonialism in Global Perspective (Cambridge University Press, 2022). The talk highlights reasons why the critical study of colonialism serves as a key to our understanding of the unfolding crises of the 21st Century, as well as the options for resistance and decolonization that also characterize our times. This talk explores the relationships between seemingly distant and disconnected oppressions and struggles, as seen through the overlapping lenses of Transnational Studies and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies.
These seminars are open to all students. Please register.
