NEW DATE FOR THIS EVENT
On Thursday 20 April (15.00-16.30), we will be joined by Megan Brown (Swarthmore College) and Alessandro Iandolo (UCL) to discuss the issues at stake in writing histories of decolonization.
While Megan Brown has recently published a book concerned with Algeria, France and the EU, Alessandro Iandolo has recently published a book on the USSR and development in West Africa. These two scholars will draw upon their different research expertise to think through histories of decolonization the challenges of writing them in the 2020s. We will also be joined by Veronique Dimier (ULB), who will be acting as discussant.
This event has been organised by the Centre for Modern and Contemporary History (M&CH), in collaboration with the Birmingham Research Institute for History and Cultures (BRIHC).
