Biography

I have previously studied at the University of Reading, including taking an undergraduate study trip to Athens in 2017. I have worked with undergraduate students in teaching and library resources, primarily under my role as the Classics Library Resources Assistant for three years. My time at the University of Birmingham has included various teaching and mentoring roles.

Teaching

I have taught on the first-year Greek World module, third-year Greek Mythology module, and previously tutored in beginner's Ancient Greek.

Doctoral research

PhD title
Corrupted Womanhood: In what ways do mythical women in Archaic and Classical Greek literature challenge ideologies of womanhood?
Supervisors
Dr Andrew Bayliss and Dr Elena Theodorakopoulos

Research

My research is focused on using literary theory to analyse the subversion of female roles in Greek mythology. Mythical women often present 'corrupted' versions of maidenhood, wifely roles, and motherhood - including direct transgression into masculine spheres.

Other activities

I have given papers at a variety of conferences, some of which are currently awaiting publication. I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, through the Univeristy of Birmingham's Beacon scheme.
