Daniel Cashmore is undertaking doctoral research into the completeness of the tetrapod (four-limbed vertebrates) fossil record. He is using quantitative approaches to estimate the proportion of preserved skeletal material of numerous tetrapod clades spanning the entire Phanerozoic. The project will ultimately address how this completeness relates to the environment, ecology, body size, diversity changes and geological sampling of tetrapods.
