Celebrating Diversity
What do our students think about diversity and inclusion?
Scott Taylor and Hazel Westwood co-created this short video project on unconscious bias with Year 1 UG students. The video has sparked national interest following a Chartered Association of Business Schools "Tools for Diversity" event which showcased the film. In the future, we hope to create a similar video, asking BBS staff for their thoughts on diversity and inclusion at the Business School.
Diversity in Business mini-series
As part of the Business School’s commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, we have created a series of events that will celebrate those who are changing the rules on who can participate and succeed in business and explore particular issues and concerns some of you may have in terms of future job hunting.
We know that the perception of the world of Business has historically been one of a competitive and ruthless sector which is steeped in tradition and outdated ways of thinking. Whilst there still may be some truth in this, the world is changing - and this generation of students will be the ones who will do more to proactively change the face of Business forever.
These panel session events are open to all students and staff across CoSS to help educate everyone on the experiences of others for when they enter the workplace. Please follow our conversations on social media using the hashtag #BBSEDI.
Look out for our next event in June which will focus on the wider topic of disability.
More information will be released soon.
