Professor Rob Jackson is an expert in bacteria-plant interactions, making major contributions to the understanding of how pathogens cause disease and how pathogens evolve to evade host immunity. He also has interests in applied biology questions relating to biocontrol approaches to treat plant diseases.

Dr Sharma-Oates’s research interest include the influence of ethnicity on disease onset and disease severity with a focus on autoimmune inflammatory diseases.

Oluwaseyi (Seyi for short) uses genomics and genetics approaches to uncover the genetic basis of productivity and quality traits in crops. Seyi’s has particular interest in the improvement and wider adoption of underutilised crops with the aim of diversifying global nutrition.

My prime research interest is how the information encoded in chromosomes instructs building of the most complex organ, the brain, and allows an organism to perform elaborate tasks.
