Current role
I am a clinical Embryologist working at the Birmingham women’s hospital. 2 months after graduating my Toxicology MSc I worked for the University of Birmingham medical school as a Research Associate in the reproductive medicine group. Before my current role I looked after the Birmingham spermbank which I am still involved in. Finally I still hold an honorary Research Associate position at the University of Birmingham.
Outline the course you studied at the University of Birmingham and how it benefited you?
I studied BSc in Human Biology and MSc in Toxicology. Both degrees gave real taste of what to expect in the real world, to be organised, work well on my own and as a team.
What made you to decide to study at the University of Birmingham rather than in your home country?
Birmingham University has high standards and the opportunity for work within the area is excellent.
How did you find your first year in Birmingham?
Really enjoyed it and made friends with whom I am still in contact and meet regularly.
How did going to University as a whole benefit you?
Helped me get a successful career .
How did you find campus life?
There are not many distractions like those in city centre and the campus is brilliant for studies as there are plenty of areas to do your work.
How did you find living in Birmingham?
I commuted to Birmingham from Worcester.
Any tips to pass on to students thinking of coming here?
Enjoy every moment of student life as it’s a one off!
What are your aspirations for the future?
To be successful in my career.
