The WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Women's Health at the University of Birmingham and Elly Charity, have had a series of online global learning events on evidence-based guidance for improving the management and care of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in low- and middle- income countries.
Since last year we have hosted a series of learning webinars. In each of these, our panellists discussed a range of topics including adapting services to care for pregnant and recently pregnant women during the pandemic, management of women with suspected and confirmed COVID-19, and the latest evidence in this area.
These webinars explored strategies and shared lessons learnt to minimise the risk of transmission and adverse outcomes for mothers, babies and healthcare professionals by harnessing the clinical and research expertise of our panellists. Help us spread the word using hashtag #globalpregcov
We are particularly keen to reach healthcare professionals in low and middle income countries.
Event Format
Speakers gave a short presentation about their experiences. This was followed by a question and answer session chaired by Professor Shakila Thangaratinam, co-Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Global Women's Health at the University of Birmingham. Participants had the opportunity to submit questions as part of the registration process and on the day itself.
Please note: seminars were recorded and may, at a later date, be made publicly available. By registering you consented to this and to potentially being recorded if your video was shown.
