Levelling up
The broader research agenda for WMREDI is to understand the relative impact of various interventions and investments for regional economic growth, sustainability and the reduction of social inequality in the West Midlands and the UK.
Projects in this research theme examine the “Levelling Up” agenda. We look at what it is and how it can work, the examples set by other countries and the part universities can play in redressing regional inequality.
Levelling Up
Led by Anne Green, this project focuses on different aspects of Levelling Up, the UK government’s flagship policy to spread opportunity, improve productivity and capacity to create wealth and reduce inequalities within and between regions.
