College of Life and Environmental Sciences - Postgraduate Online Open Day for programmes in Environmental Science and Public Health
- Dates
- Tuesday 23 January 2024 (09:30-10:30)
What threats are we and our environment are exposed to and what impact do these threats have on the physical health and social well-being of individuals and communities? There is an increasing demand from both industry and enforcement agencies to integrate occupational health, safety and environmental issues to provide solutions to a wide range of health, safety and environmental problems across multi-disciplinary platforms and teams. Discover the importance of technical and practical skills as well as the need for good management skills and critical thinking.
By focusing on prevention, the public health side of Environmental Health keeps people out of doctors’ surgeries and hospitals by ensuring safe working conditions, clean air, safe food and good quality housing. Environmental Health professionals have the skills and influence to revive run-down communities by helping to improve better and safer housing, influence over policy development and implementation in both food and health sectors, and make a real contribution to society, working alongside other professionals towards a sustainable agenda for the future. Be part of the solution and find out more about our courses and research.
