“The picture is taken in Ganvié, southern Benin, West Africa. It shows a fisherman and his daughter trying to catch fish.”
"Benin is one of the safest and least volatile countries in Africa. However, it suffers from a serious lack of infrastructure, with less than a quarter of the population having access to electricity or proper sanitation.
The aim of my research explores different scenarios for investments into hydropower generation in Sub-Saharan Africa, which might play a vital role in increasing electricity access in different part of the continent. At the same time, furnishing adaptation strategies to increased drought and flood risks due to climate change via increased good water management practices."
