Award Description
The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce a number of scholarships of £5,000 for undergraduate candidates from China.
The scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit (if required an interview may be necessary) to the highest performing candidates starting their University of Birmingham programme in the 2025/2026 academic year.
Value of Award
The scholarship is £5,000 awards towards tuition fees (for the first year only) of a full-time Undergraduate degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of Birmingham in the UK, and students applying for the following subjects and programmes are not eligible for this scholarship:
The allocation of the award will be made based on academic excellence and a willingness to support the University in promoting the courses and facilities through volunteering whilst studying at the University.
In order to be eligible to apply, candidates must:
- Have received an offer from the University of Birmingham for a full-time undergraduate programme in the above stated subject areas starting September 2025. The student must be entering the first year of an undergraduate programme based at the Birmingham UK campus.
- Expect to achieve the following scores and meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme:
- A level: A*AA in 3 A level subjects
- IB Diploma: 7,6,6 in Higher Level subjects
- APs: 5 for 4 APs, or 5 for 3 APs and SAT 1350 or ACT 28
- Gaokao: minimum 80% overall average; and minimum 85% overall in Year 11 and Year 12.
- Be classed as Chinese national or domiciled in China
- Start their studies at the University in September 2025 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
- Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
- Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
- Submit their scholarship application by the deadline of 28/2/2025.
