Award Description

The Mathematics Excellence Award, for home undergraduate students, enables you to be recognised and rewarded for your excellent academic achievements before arriving as a student at the University of Birmingham.

Value of Award

The Mathematics Excellence Award consists of £1500 during year 1 semester 1 for all students who meet the criteria below.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this award you must:

• Obtain the following A Level results or equivalent in other qualification systems*
  • A* in Mathematics
  • A*A* in other subjects
• Be classified as Home for fees on your acceptance to the university.
• Be accepted to one of the following courses for year 1 entry in 2022 after placing it as firm choice in UCAS
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics G100
  • MSci (Hons) Mathematics G103
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics with a Year in Industry G102
  • BSc Mathematics with an International Year G104
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics with a Year Abroad in Continental Europe G141
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics with Business Management G1N2
  • MSci (Hons) Mathematics with Business Management G1NF
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science GG14
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science with Industrial Year GGD4
  • MSci (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science GI11
  • MSci (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science with Industrial Year GG41
• The Mathematics Excellence Award cannot be held with the George Watson Scholar Award. The Excellence Award takes priority.
