Special Collections Volunteers

Arts Society Heritage Volunteers have made a tremendous contribution enabling us to complete projects which otherwise would not be possible.

Completed projects include:

• boxing the 3,000 Middle Eastern manuscripts
• re-housing Neville Chamberlain's photographs in archival storage
• listing the 580 drawings in the Alma-Tadema Collection
• and a twelve-year project of conservation cleaning the rare books.

Conservation Careers

Up to date information on how to train as a conservator is available at the Institute of Conservation. This is the UK's umbrella organisation for the conservation of all forms of cultural heritage.

Heritage Internships

Opportunities for University of Birmingham students to undertake paid, four-week Heritage Internships in the Cadbury Research Library are offered each summer. Keep an eye on Careers Network for the advertisements published in the Spring term.
