Work carried out by the Advanced Mass Spectrometry facility that involves method development, data analysis or critical and intellectual contribution that significantly enhances the research requires co-authorship on any subsequent publication. Thus, prior to the work being carried out, discussion of co-authorship is required. In some cases, this may be more suitable after data acquisition and processing.
Routine sample analysis such as protein identification and molecular weight determination may not require co-authorship on any subsequent publication. However, acknowledgement of the “University of Birmingham Advanced Mass Spectrometry Facility” is required.
Please note that high quality figures for theses and publications can be provided if necessary.
