The Q-Exactive HF is a hybrid quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer, which combines the ultra-high field orbitrap mass analyser with a quadrupole mass analyser. The instrument offers a maximum resolving power of 240,000 at m/z 200, and a maximum scan rate of 18 Hz (RP 15,000 at m/z 200). The instrument was installed early in 2017 and is primarily used for proteomics experiments.
The Q-Exactive HF is equipped with a TriVersa Nanomate (Advion) and nanoflow liquid chromatography system (Dionex). The Triversa Nanomate also offers liquid extraction surface analysis (LESA) capability, i.e., direct surface sampling. Tandem mass spectrometry capabilities include higher collision energy dissociation (HCD).
