- Dr Zania Stamataki: Viral immunologist, specialising in virus transmission, neutralising antibodies and persistent/chronic infection, particularly in the liver.
- Professor Shakila Thangaratinam: In collaboration with the World Health Organization, the analysis of how the virus affects women during and after pregnancy.
- Professor Willem van Schaik: Molecular microbiology, the human microbiome and antibiotic resistance; able to comment on epidemiology and possible public health interventions to contain/minimise the spread of coronavirus.
