The Moor Pool Estate was the vision of John Sutton Nettlefold, and built on the principles of providing low density housing centred around a community hall, interspersed with green spaces and provision of recreational and sporting facilities to encourage social cohesion.

Now a designated Conservation Area it remains a fine example of a Garden Suburb built in a humble Arts & Crafts style to provide affordable housing in a semi-rural environment.

This talk will explore the origins of the Estate and Nettlefold’s vision initially as co-partnership housing scheme run by Harborne Tenants Ltd from origins to today.
