"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."– African Proverb.
Join Artist in Residence, Sipho Eric Ndlovu, for Ubuntubukani: Africanize Study Days—a unique series celebrating African heritage, culture, and storytelling. Dive into Sipho’s explorations as he uses museum objects and art to spark conversations about history, legacy, and empowerment in African communities. Hosted by We Don't Settle in collaboration with the University of Birmingham's Research and Cultural Collections.
What to Expect:
Gather in the welcoming café space at The Exchange for a relaxed day of sharing, learning, and meaningful discussions. These drop-in study days are your chance to connect with like-minded people, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of Africanize—a community-centred project that reclaims history and amplifies African narratives.
Whether you're interested in history, art, or simply connecting with others, these study days offer an inspiring space to engage with African heritage in a fresh, collaborative way.
We will be hosting three sessions with Sipho (11:00 - 16:00):
- Saturday 16 November
- Saturday 23 November
- Saturday 7 December
Africanize is a project for everyone passionate about celebrating and reimagining African legacy. Don’t miss this chance to contribute to a growing community of change-makers.
