Professor Patricia Noxolo from University of Birmingham hosts this discussion with Dr. Joy White, an authority in Black British music and cultural production.

Dr. White’s latest book, Like Lockdown Never Happened: Music and Culture During Covid, examines how Black music and culture shaped our experiences in the pandemic’s early months.

Joy is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Social Sciences at the University of Bedfordshire and the author of Terraformed: Young Black Lives in the Inner City.
