From lab to laptop: How artificial intelligence and machine learning are reshaping chemical research
- Location
- University of Birmingham
- Dates
- Wednesday 12 March 2025 (13:00-15:00)
Discover how artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI and ML) are changing how we explore and understand chemistry. In this masterclass, you will learn how chemists are harnessing the power of AI and ML to automate experiments, predict chemical properties, and speed up the discovery of new material. Through a beginner-friendly introduction and hands-on coding tutorial, you will learn foundational coding skills and explore applications of AI and ML in chemical research.
Attendees of this masterclass will be required to sign the ‘University of Birmingham Conference Registration’ form to state they have read, understood, and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the use of service. This will allow attendees to log into and use our computers during the session. We will provide this form at the start of the masterclass, and you will need to sign it to participate.
Who can attend this masterclass?
This event is open to all Year 12 students. We recommend that students are studying A Level Mathematics. No prior experience with AI and ML or programming will be needed.
